City Announces to Extend PSBB until May 22

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, finally decided to extend the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) until four weeks, precisely from April 24 to May 22.

This matter has been thoroughly discussed with experts in the Health Agency and infectious diseases

"This matter has been thoroughly discussed with experts in the Health Agency and infectious diseases. That means the second period will begin on April 24 to May 22," he expressed, at the City Hall's Pavilion, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (4/22) night.

On that occasion, he gave his appreciation to all elements that have run the government's instructions well during PSBB. He stressed, COVID-19 cases would keep increasing and need time to resolve them together.

"Along two week, we still find violations in the field, such as crowds, companies that are still operating, etc. Therefore, I ask for cooperation from all levels of society to obey the regulations, InsyaAllah this pandemic can end soon," he explained.

He went on to say that his party together with Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya would conduct massive discipline during the second phase of the PSBB.

"This applies to all, we all need to be disciplined. In the future, the appeal phase of the educational is over. Now is the enforcement phase," he asserted.

He explained that companies that are still operating during PSBB will be dealt with decisively, except those who are excluded in Gubernatorial Regulation number 33/2020. Surely it would endanger its workers and society at large.

"We had found companies insist on operating and some their workers were positively infected by coronavirus. So please all residents to work at home, learn from home, perform worship at home," he closed.
